This working paper provides data on rainfall, wind conditions, temperatures, sun position and geological formation of the Diadema area.
The data on rain fall was extracted from http://www.sigrh.sp.gov.br/sigrh/basecon/bancodedados/plu/plu.htm
![]() Rainfall is consideraby high and should be used for drinking and irrigation. Erosion can easily accrue and has to be treated rightly. The temperature data was extracted from http://de.weather.com/weather/climatology/BRXX0232. The diagram was elaborated by myself on 18.03.2003.
The data on temperature show, that there are little differences in temperature during the seasons. Nevertheless, day and night differences during winter can be big. Housing with some building mass for heat storage are advisable. The wind data was received via e-mail on 19.02.2003 from estacao@model.iag.usp.br and is signed as “Estacao3 ÌAG-USP”. The diagram and analysis was elaborated by me on 10.03.2003 and 17.03.2003.
![]() ![]() The wind data show, that there is a potential for the use of wind energy for electricity creation. Furthermore, the wind should be used for cooling purposes in the houses. The sun chart was made with the software program sunpath.exe, which is a freeware and can be downloaded on this page. ![]() The geological data was send to me by e-mail on 20.02.2003 from Jose Maria de Azevedo Sobrinho. mailto:zemaria@igeologico.sp.gov.br ..In the region of Diadema the underground stones are outcropping (gneiss and migmatos), normally alternated by decaying layers. I do not know the exact location of the settlement, and can therefore not be absolutely sure about the formation. This kind of rock is the base for a silty-clayey ground. According to a table of the ABGE (Associação Brasileira de
Geologia de Engenharia)concerning the granulometric consistence in view of the permeability, one estimates for a material like this a K-value of 0,0000001 till 0,00000001 cm/sec (10 elevated -7 till 10 elevated -8).
These values can of course vary, depending on the exact location.
I hope this was helpful...
