The example of Sitio Joaninha, Brazil03/2003 First I want to thank Profa. Maria Lucia Refinetti Martins from LabHab FAUSP, for her invitation to take part in this project and Prof. Detlef Gücklich, my tutor, from the chair of Fundamentals of Ecological Planning and Building at the Bauhaus University here in Weimar for his openness to accept this project as a theme for my Diploma. My thanks are also directed to Luciana Ferrara, who was helping to gather all the material about Sitio Joaninha and who patiently answers all my questions by e-mail. This site is meant to facilitate the exchange of information between Brazil, Germany and Japan as Prof. Glücklich will spent most of this Semester in Japan. While I sit here in Weimar, Germany, the Sitio Joaninha is located in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Many people are right now working on their own projects about Sitio Joaninha. This site invites them and who ever feels like, to share their experience, studies and gossips (fofocas) about Sitio Joaninha on our Black Board. As the work is progressing, every now and then you will find texts that have changed and new material to download. 19.06.2003 Today I have concluded the work for my Diploma Thesis on Sitio Joaninha. As you find the work now, it will be presented to the examiners board on 24.06.2003 here in Weimar. I am quite excited about the outcome of the examination. A lot of topics have been explored in quite a short time. Deeper investigation would be needed on site to prove the applicability of the measures proposed and I hope, that I will find an institution, which will see the inherent potential of Sitio Joaninha the way I was lucky to see it, and which will provide this work with the necessary funds to do all further research until one day soon, Sitio Joaninha will turn into the village it could be and which its people deserve. "Se deus quizer" (so God will) as the Brazilians use to say. |
